This really is Omar-S' best 12" ever. Within these four tracks, we are now beginning to find out just who Omar-S truly is. "Still Serious Nic" displays the many sides of Omar-S: Raw, Dark, Soulful, Experimental but most of all Funky. Just like Anthony "Shake" Shakir, Omar-S is a producer that is not afraid to take risks, experiment and try something new. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but when it works it is a very beautiful thing. Luckily for us, on this record- IT WORKS! "Still Serious Nic", marks a new phase in the sound of Omar-S as he continues on his musical quest. I hope it is a quest that lasts for many years because this guy just keeps getting better and better. -AVE
