Sebastian S. (aka Caustic 14) returns to the Brussels-based Basic Moves label with two previously unreleased tracks found in his personal archive. The first track, Excalibur (In Valen’s Name),www.replicabag.me was produced in tandem with one of Europe’s biggest techno underdogs, Mike DMA, during the last session the pair ever did in their studio (Z’ha’dum) in 1995. The influence from producers of that time such as Stasis, Plaid or BOC can clearly be heard . The second track, Cliffhanger (Falling In Heaven’s Sake), a solo production by Sebastian S., is a dig from several years earlier. The Detroit influence is strong here, but the signature Caustic 14 "space opera" melodies shine out. Basic Moves is very proud to propel this Belgian electronic music heritage out into the world. |
